Encyclopedias are wonderful. I used to peruse the collections of them at the library as a kid. I wasn't lame enough to use my book limit on bringing those things home, but I enjoyed them whilst at the library.

I tried very hard to like encyclopedias. I even read large swaths of World Book and Britannica. If I'm honest though, it was a real struggle to get through them. Such awful, boring presentation!

Oh, right... some libraries have a book limit, don't they? Mine doesn't (thankfully), so I'll sometimes come home with... I think twenty was the most that I ever checked out. Maybe. Some of it's fiction, some of it's cookbooks, some of it's manga... so on. Maybe some medical books every now and then....
My backpack gets very full, however, and it is then a pain in the neck to close, so that's the trade-off for tons of books.

I had my own set. I liked the bigger, more thorough library set, but like you, I couldn't justify wasting my precious allowance of books for the week on something that I essentially already had.

It smells absolutely lovely. That old book smell, or as I call it, the "encyclopedia smell."

Well, this was mine, but I really just randomly selected at least half the answers and... while I've seen a few scenes from Jaws, I've never watched a shark movie. I mean, why would I?
