It's from the answer key, lol. These questions are from a test I took as a kid, and I later found them using Google and thought that the question format was interesting. Unfortunately I don't know exactly how I did, and there's a good chance that I never made it to them since kids perform a lot worse than adults (though that doesn't impact reported scores, as they express performance relative to others in the same age group).
 
Items types like vocabulary, general knowledge, riddles, etc. all measure the same broad "crystallized" ability, but I'm partial to items that manage to measure it well without having their difficulty primarily come from the rarity of the words and / or general facts that must be known beforehand in order to arrive at correct answers, which is why I think riddles are cool. IMO rather than requiring one to know some relatively uncommon words or facts, harder ones require one to be particularly good at grasping and applying concepts that virtually everyone is familiar with.
