Assist in hatching?

it didn't make it just stopped breathing. I was devastated. I have 4 healthy chicks now on day 24 with 6 eggs to hatch

I’m sorry you lost the chick, but try not to be devastated by it. This is a very normal part of hatching, unfortunately. While 100% rates are common, they will never be 100% consecutively. Any number of things can go wrong inside and outside the shell; the health of nutrition of the parentstock even comes into play. I prefer when they don’t hatch, because then I don’t have to watch weak or malformed chicks suffer until I cull them.

Congratulations on your healthy chicks! You may have had low temps or cool spots for them to be hatching so late. Read the hatch guide, it has everything you’ll ever need to know.

Thank you all for your help. I still have 6 eggs to go and on day 26 should I wait a few more days? Yes Campingshaws I think I'd prefer them not to hatch than struggle
