Assist or Not

sorry about the chick. It is so hard to know when to assist and when not to.
It really is. I tried to wait and I guess I should have. I have another one that I assisted a little and now I'm not so sure if I should have. I did purchase a new incubator with a grovee thermometer for my future hatch. This next batch will be entirely different. This forum is an amazing source of people and information. Question for you. I had a chick that I'm pretty sure hatched a but early. The egg shell was a little bloody and the chick is really small and lethargic. Has been since it hatched. I started giving it sugar water today and I scrambled a yolk to try and feed it. It fluffed up but it is smaller. Would you or any others know when I can say my chicken is in the clear and will survive? I am at 3/10 chicks for now. Hopefully soon to be 4/10.

When did it hatch? I have had some shells I see veins in and some I don't but haven't had issues with either chicks. I think there are normally some small veins left but they absorb the big ones.

I have a govee and love it. But make sure you calibrate it for temp and humidity. You can search on here how to calibrate it since it can't go in water like others can.

It hatched on Monday night. So I just had the last one hatch now and I think I may have assisted too early. I see a little yellow stuff and blood at the butt of chick.

Anyone? Help??? I put some neosporin on his butt and move him under the brooder heat lamp. I out him inside a paper towel inside of a cup to keep him from moving around. He was on his back a lot inside the bator and his legs were twitching alot. Not sure if he is slowly dying, if he was cold, no clue. He seems to be chirping alot and seems more calm under the lamp. Is he going to die?
