Newbie here! My call ducks nest was attacked during hatch.... I have been able to save 1 egg with a live baby. The egg is open with the beak out of the internal membrane. Baby is alive and just peeped. I don't have an incubator... Keeping membrane moist as it still has plump blood vessels. As the siblings were in the process of hatching when this happend, I'll assume this one was too. Ant advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm not sure how long to absorb the rest of the vessels. There is a hole the size of a quarter and dime together with little beak sticking out. Baby is breathing. Now what?

Under a heat lamp now. Any knowledge on how long to absorb blood from the internal membrane? This hole has been open about 24 hours now and I just got my first peep about 15 minutes ago... So, if it survives, boy or girl, this little one is Hope!

I found your thread. Wish I could help. I know less than nothing about hatching out eggs. Have you checked the internet on ways to make a hommade incubator? I know Ive seen stuff, it just did not apply to my world at the moment so I skipped it. I wish you the best of luck with HOPE
I think there are threads on this forum just. for this sort of emergency, I have never tried to find them.

I've made a jury rigged incubator type box... So far so good!! I even got my 2nd baby quack!!! Momma peep is distraught though. That's her in my profile pic...13 babies out of 8 eggs... She took such good care of them.

Lol! Great minds...I found that! It's funny, I don't have 2 legged kids except for my ducks (many dogs and rabbits) but when I got that first baby quack, I **** near cried!!!!
