Assisted hatching Goose

I started assisting the hatch of a goose egg but when I got to the internal membrane it is just white, I wet it a bit and it didn't change colour.
I'm uncertain whether or not to continue because I don't want to break a blood vessel.

If there's no blood you can continue to pick away at it. If the gosling is truly ready to hatch all the blood will have gone into the gosling. I've had them pip and take a few days to come out. Some are in no hurry. So proceed cautiously.
