Hatching
Hello Everyone, This is our first clutch of chickens and guineas ever. We are at day 28 for guineas and 21 for fancy chickens that we added on day 7 to the bator. Our first healthy chick hatched on day 18 in the morning, We have 10 chicks and 3 keets that have hatched so far and are in the brooder. Keeping humidity up in the 100 egg brower is imposible.
We just unzipped a chick that has had its beak out of the shell for 24 hours and put it back in the bator to break through the membrane.
I don't know if we should help the other one yet. It has a leg stuck out the pip hole about the size of a dime and its eye is looking out the rest of the hole. Humidity is at 45% with a bowl of water, a sponge, and a wet cloth in the bator. The chick has been like that for about 24 hours. should we unzip ????
Thanks Everyone
