Today is 22 for this hatch and I had a few eggs that had not pipped so I candles first, saw movement so I decided to intervene.
First scored the top where the air cell was, removed all of the hard shell from all three, found the beak and poked a small hole for them to breathe. Applied coconut oil to the exposed membrane and put them back in an incubator set aside for hatch assistance.
Damn shipped eggs and the malpositions these babies get themselves stuck in
When can I further assist by peeling back the inner membrane? Still a lot of veins with blood inside right now and I don’t want to assist further until it’s safe/necessary.
Here’s a Few pics
Barnevelder
mixed flock (I can’t figure this position out)
