Got 6 chicks from Tractor Supply last week. They were in a bin labeled Columbian Rock Cross assorted pullets. The guy seemed to know a lot about chickens so I asked why it said assorted pullets and his reply was it should just say pullets. I bought them anyway (of course!). My question is, how do I tell? All of them look the same with their markings. They're now 8 days old.

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! When they are a little bit older you might want to post pictures in the What Breed Or Gender Is This forum https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/15/what-breed-or-gender-is-this Some hatcheries do carry a Columbian Plymouth Rock, since it said "cross" I wonder if they are mixes of CPR times another breed or color ... Rocks are also used in some meat bird crosses, so that is another possibility.

I don't know anything about this breed, so I can't help you with this one. But Kelsie has left you with a good link for the What Breed and Gender section here on BYC. They sure are cute however!

Welcome to BYC and enjoy your new babies!

Thank you! We are excited to watch them grow but at the same time a little nervous about what they are! No matter, it will be a fun experience with our family. I appreciate the link and will be checking it out.

Welcome to BYC - our TSC is also selling 'Columbian rock crosses' - I have no idea what they are. It will be interesting to see how they turn out.
