At the Post office

Hi y'all,
I'm so excited to be a part of this forum. I've been oggling over posts for months now awaiting my babies. They are shipping next Monday from BYC. I'm in Southern Calif. My question is... should I wait until I get home to open the box and inspect my new arrivals? Should I open it up and give them water???? Thanks in advance for your help!

Open it at the PO so that they can witness if any are DOA and write up a report so you will get a refund. As long as you're not far from home you can wait until you get home to give them water.

I also opened at the PO just in case some didn't make it. I don't know if you have children, but I do, and were super excited about the chicks. I did not want to open it in front of them, and then have some that were DOA!

Thank goodness I didn't, but I'm going to do the same thing tomorrow when I pick up my next order!
