I had read not to give leafy greens too young, as they can cause diarrhea and lead to pasting up. My girls are 4 weeks now, can I start giving them fruit and veggie treats yet? Gave them some wax worms last week, and after they finally realized they were food they really went after them!

I started at about 4 weeks but gave them grit too so they could digest it. Haven't had any problems and now they are 6 weeks old.

Thanks! Haven't given any grit yet, but was just reading about it in another thread...I'll get some tomorrow!

With mine I started yogurt, teeny tiny chopped or shredded lettuce and small mealworms at around 2 weeks old. Not at the same time and not in excess mind you

When they were 3 or 4 weeks we tried purple cabbage and heads of lettuce for them to pick at. 4 or 5 weeks we also did cucumber and squash. We just sliced in in halves and they had a blast picking at the middle. I'm not saying this is a regimen to follow, but these are the things mine had at different ages and we had no problems at all. Grit is a MUST though with anything after yogurt

They also liked popcorn, pizza crust, some bread crumbs, and some cut up breaded pork chops.

They love it all!
