New to the forum and chickens but I'm starting to think this little one is a rooster.

I have 2 Cochin bantams that I think are 3 weeks. If I figure out how to send you some pics, can you give me your opinion on male or female?I can tell at different stages: ie--day 3, three weeks, 8 weeks (then I lose them), 16 weeks....
It kinda depends on the bird. Some are obvious right away, some are sneaky. Did you have a picture of the bird in question?
This thread is very old and the user you quoted hasn't been on in 4 years. If you send me pics, I may be able to help you.I have 2 Cochin bantams that I think are 3 weeks. If I figure out how to send you some pics, can you give me your opinion on male or female?

How old are they?I was trying to get pics of their combs and waddles or hopefully lack there of. I also took a pic of them resting from above because I had heard if they have the beginning of pin feathers in the shoulders that may indicate male or female. But I honestly cant tell and shortly after I took the pic, the one with what appears to be shoulder feathers stretched the wings bigger than I had seen them do and its possible those feathers are just part of the wings. So I cant tell on theses two. Thanks for your opinions in advance.
So far they look like pullets, but it is quite early. If they start to develope any red to their comb/wattles in the next 2 weeks, you have cockerels. If they stay pale, they are indeed pullets. In the photos shown they were 3 weeks old. Sunday they will be 4 weeks.
