At what age do Muscovies......

I just recently got a pair of Chocolate Muscovies. They are both not fully mature yet. The lady that I got them from said that the female will start laying her first eggs this spring. Will she set and raise babies this spring or no?

They can hatch out as soon as they lay a clutch and start setting. My girl hatched out her first batch her first spring. Excellent mothers.

All you have to do is let her do her job.

Yep, one of my girls started building her nest after she laid her first egg. I had to(and you will too) remove the first few eggs that are just too small or funny shaped and sometimes infertile, but they will continue to lay until they feel like they have enough to sit on. My girl hatched out all 9 of her eggs in her first nest, during our freezing winter weather!
