At what age do silkies usually crow or lay and egg?

I had two Silkies, one still hasn't laid an egg and she would be 11 months or so, she is a real sweetie. Her friend laid at five or so months and I was so excited! Those eggs are too cute! She passed away very unexpectedly which was horrible. I now have two younger ones and am praying they are both girls, they are 16 weeks....I keep comparing them to my original but from this forum I learnt they are late to show as boys so I cuddle them and ask them not to bloody well crow!

My silkie rooster is 6 months old and still doesn't crow . Is that normal?
