At what age do you ship your started birds?

I've only bought started birds once, and they were 12 weeks old and did fine. What is an appropriate age to ship juveniles?

After reading a recent post where all three birds at 12 weeks died from stravation, I would have to say the younger the better. Day-olds still have the yolk sac attached and feed from that so they survive shipping better than older birds. And I just learned all that too from someone else's disaster.

I thought they were around 6 weeks old, and shipped on a Friday?
