At What Age Will My Rooster Mate With My Hens?

As the title says... I was a bit confused when I saw my 16 week old buff Orpington ontop of one of our EEs and the hen made a horrible squawcking noise. Was he just attacking her and has to go? Or is he trying to mate? I'll keep a close eye on this and if it happens again I will try to catch a video.

16 weeks old? Oh, he's trying to get some on, so to speak. That's not an attack - that's mounting the hen, mating behavior.
