At what age do peacocks start growing the bright blues on the breast and head?

Thank you for your reply. When I raised cockatiels and needed to know sex asap I'd pluck a single tail feather. If the feather grew back (week or two) solid color on the bottom it was a male-if striped, a female.Around 8-10 months
No, not really. Would two plucked feathers come in blue. I certainly would not pluck any bird naked unless it were dead and to be eaten.Are you asking if you do that will it speed up them turning blue?

Would this also work on a peacocks breast? If a couple breast feathers were plucked would they come in blue; if male?
