AT wits end with these girls PLEASE HELP!

I have never wormed in the dark, but sure...why not? Wear a headlamp so you can see what you're doing lol.
The thing about adding wormers in water is that you never know how much they drink, therefore you dont know if they drank enough for the wormer to be effective. Some may have drank alot, or others hardly any at all. Also, when temperatures are cool or cold, chickens drink less water and (wormer.)
If you still wish to worm using water...you can buy Safeguard liquid goat wormer (fenbendazole.) Dosage is 3cc per gallon of water. Leave it out for 3 days straight. It must be their sole source of water to drink.

I wormed my girls once last year with Wazine-17. I am going to get some droppings sampled today to see if there is any evidence of worms right now. If there are worms, do you recommend doing the Wazine first and then the harder stuff? I heard something about doing a gentler wormer first so that there's not a huge back-up of dead worms in them that could be hard to process.

Thanks!

Wazine just paralyzes the adult worms but does not kill the eggs. I think you would be safe to go with something like what dawg said, I used safeguard paste pea size on a piece of bread for each bird. Next year I will order the type that dawg uses.

I just looked Valbazen up on jeffersilverstock.com is the 500 ml bottle enough to order I have 15 chickens how long will this last?

Not to totally crash this thread... but I have had my hens for a,most 2 years now. I have never noticed any signs of a worm problem, loss of weight pale comb, poopy but etc. I also have chicks in the brooder and will be introducing them to the flock this summer. My question is should I consider worming them even without any signs?

If you have large fowl the dose is 0.5 cc (half a cc) so 500 ml (cc) is 1000 doses.

This sort of thing is what happens with these wormers, you are often buying cattle or sheep wormers so you end up buying a lot more than you need. This is basically because it is being used off label for chickens. Of course the manufacturer doesn't mind a bit.

To give liquid meds to my not-so-tame chickens, I squirt the med onto a little scrap of bread and give each chicken a scrap, at night. As Dawg said, easier with a headlamp. A helper is good, too.

Differing opinions on this one. Some do yearly whether it's noticeably needed or not. Others don't believe in treating something that's not there. I've not wormed my girls before either (had them 2 yrs too), but am constantly wondering if I should as a preventative...

Thank you I have a hard time with math like that I hate trying to figure it out. I will order the little bottle for next year since I do have my safeguard paste from last year. I will use that this year again. I only worm once a year since our winters get cold enough to freeze everything. I didn't worm until I saw some in one of the girls poop. It was scary I feel now its better to worm then to face an emergency or only find out after you lose one of your hens.

If you have a problem with pastybutt feed your chickens yogurt. A good amount. They love it and it's good for them. Also, if you have to worm your chickens try giving them rice with Cayanne Pepper mixed in with it. Put a lot of pepper in with the rice where it's all red. That should help with worms. If no worms then give them yogurt and you might want to ad some Apple Cider Vinigar to there water. Probably a tablespoon amount in one of those chicken waterers. Maybe a tad more. That should help with there stomachs as well.
