Okay, but help me out. There had to be something to go "bang," right? Even science admits that something can't come from nothing. So where did the something come from that went bang?
I've always wondered the same thing about the religious perspective. Where did God come from? Why is it any more believable that a God came from nowhere and then created earth (in seven days)? How do believers explain the many different creation stories from other religious cultures?

I came from a very religious family and went to Catholic school, attended bible study and prayer meetings, and even taught Sunday school for a few years. Around the age of 13, I began to question the beliefs I had been indoctrinated with. I decided I didn't believe in god, but I felt ashamed & guilty about it. I kept my thoughts a secret, since there was really no one I could talk to about such things. Then I went to college and one of my favorite professors mentioned that he was atheist. He said it with such ease and confidence that it blew my mind. I'm sure he had no idea how significant and needed his words were to me. It literally released me of my guilt and allowed me to finally feel okay for not believing in something that makes no logical sense to me. I have never since questioned or felt ashamed of my personal beliefs.
