its a word to describe people who are mentally incompetent. It is not meant to describe somebody who is acting stupid. Its offensive and rude. Its not a word that is used very often any more.

No worries there. I don't have any answers and I don't pretend to know God's mind nor do I really think the Bible is an accurate representation since it was written by men with their own agendas.

I really like docteurmccoy's explaination and feel like that fits me pretty well!
