What did you use to attach your hardware cloth to your wood run frame? My coop may end up being mostly an out-door/open air coop, and I need suggestions to securely fasten the wire to the run frame. I have a 2 yo pit bull that shares the backyard with these chickens and this need to be overly-excited pit bull proof!

Thanks in Advance!

They make a small rabbit steeple They use on rabbit pens.I used them and then a staple gun too in between.
The last one I used washers and drywall screws.

Domino7 - Training the pit bull is in the works, however, it's my roommate's dog. The coop doesn't need to be able to withstand a constant beating, however, while we're still learning, it needs to be able to handle the occassional "OMG CHICKENS" we've seen with the current setup.

Thomas423 - you're saying your stapled the mesh on, then screwed on a 2x4 over that?

I bought a staple shooter that shoots 1/4" crown staples.. It runs off my compressor.. I love it for building cages.. I even stapled chain link fence into my lean-to pens..

I build all of my fences out of chain link .. but the fences, I wire the chainlink to the posts with electric fence wire.

on the last fence I built which was 40 feet x 40 feet, I made the chain link pieces just 3 inches shorter than what the post were spaced. then I wired the fencing between the posts instead of attaching a long roll along side of the posts..
there is no sag in that fence..

Since my posts are treated lumber, I used galvanized screws and washers. Unfortunately, I couldn't find galvanized washers with an inside hole diameter small enough to catch the screws. So I ended up with screw through small unglavanized washer through larger galvanized washer. Once I had the hardware cloth secure, I reinforced gaps with "U" fence staples.
