Attack of the seagulls! (pics)

I live in San Diego and when Gulls attack, they really attack!.
I saw a flock (20 or so) attacking a trash can. My wife and I actually saw a gull EAT A WHOLE HAMBURGER!!! (McDonald's) He flew down, shatched it up, and in one gulp downed the WHOLE THING!. He did not take bites and tear it up, he ate the WHOLE THING AT ONCE!!!

We have a restaurant called Point Loma Seafood. It's really a fish market but they sell lunch etc... I watched as a gull landed on a table with a family sitting there eating, Squacked at the 7yr old, snatched up three or four shrimp, pooed, and flew off leaving the poor girl crying and shrimpless.
These flying rats are getting out of hand!

I admonished some fool the other day that was hand feeding gulls at the beach. She said it was "cute" I told her it won't be "cute" when that thing flys over and poos on her head! "DON'T FEED GULLS OR PIDGENS!"

BTW the second PIC isn't a sea gull, It's a sand piper type shore bird. (my brain isn't working well and I can't for the life of me rember what it's called)

Yeah, I still haven't asked my friend to id the second bird for me. There were quite a few of them and I figured they were some type of sand piper. Darn hard buggers to photograph! They were very, very fast!

We were eating french fries and a whole bunch of them were surrounding us, hoping for hand outs. We weren't even feeding them, but one swooped down and stole a french fry right out of my friend's hand, just as she was about to eat it! They certainly can be vicious, but I enjoy watching them anyways. I think they are just such funny birds.

Ocean City, NJ is in south Jersey. It is a very beautiful beach, and probably about 15 minutes from my college.

Those are great pictures.. The one with the streetlights is a nice shot. Am I seeing it right, that there are at least 3 seagulls on 3 different lights as well?

Aren't seagulls neat?!?! There is nothing like taking a walk on the beach with the smell of the ocean in the air, the wind blowing through your hair, and the seagulls singing their songs. Thanks for sharing.

Fishermom, there were seagulls all over the street lamps, but thanks for pointing out those too! I didn't even notice them before. It was funny how they defended their streetlamp nests! The unlucky ones had to sleep on the beach.

We did get an id on the little guy. It is a sanderling. Very cute little buggers!

There's also Ocean City, MD. That's not far from Salisbury MD. Ocean City, NJ I didn't even know about! LOL

If they bother you when you eat, feed them some of those "flop, flop, fizz, fizz" tablets!

I dont know if they would really make them explode....thats another one for the Mythbuster's show.

Anyone tried feeding those tablets to those birds? What happened to them? Something tells me nothing has happened or they just had upset stomach.
