Attacked duck -- not major but pls help

Just wondering since you covered that nasty wound on your bird:sick. I have a strong stomach but that was nasty. What caused that if you don’t mind me asking
I'm not sure how he got it, maybe fighting with another rooster. I wrapped him because the incision I made was quite large and since it was on his breast the risk of it getting contaminated was too high.

So, I checked on his wound today and tried to get as much pus out as I could, but he was really squirmy and I only got a little bit. Plus it had hardened so I had to be careful not to rip anything. I can always get my mom out again to help me hold him if I need to get more out.

Here are pictures of his wound this morning, after i tried to remove some of the pus.

Another without flash

Also, I completely forget to get pictures of the scab on his tail. I'll do that later.

I don't think I got all of them out. One that was on the edge, around the area in the picture on the bottom left, kinda hardened into the scab and I wasn't able to get anything out in that region. I'm also not confident I was able to pull out all of it (I did get some) in the hole.

Also, is alright if I do that tomorrow morning, or should I do it now? I could do it this evening if you think it'd be better to do it sooner. (I just got back from my horseback riding lesson so I'm just tired is all)
