Can you hold him in your lap while holding a wet towel on the wound? Doing this might help loosen stuff up.

That would work if he's not too waterproof. If too waterproof, the wound on his back won't get wet.

He doesn't really like sitting in my lap, but I could probably keep him still to do that. He's shown before that once I've handled him for a while he calms down and lets me help him, so hopefully by the time I do this he'll be much calmer.

As to Miss Lydia, the wound is covered by the wing feathers on his back, although the one on his tail isn't too covered, it just has a lot of down around it. A lot of the tail feathers covering that area were ripped out. I can try the towel first and if that doesn't work I can try letting him soak in water.

Maybe soak the towel real good in warm water and let it sit on him for a while. You can put a plastic trash can liner on your lap then a towel that should keep you from getting too wet.

I just finished up with him, I hope I did everything right....we washed it out with warm water and peroxide, and my mom wanted to put neosporin on afterwards, I hope that's alright.

I found an open puncture wound after plucking that's tiny, and the scab itself was pretty loose...but had a few spots that required longer soaking before I could pull it off.

I'm sorry I didnt post any updates during the process, but my mom was in a hurry to make dinner and I had to do half of it by myself.

Under the scab I found a deep puncture wound, it didnt weep any pus or blood, but it did have some sticky green stuff in it. I'll let the pictures do the talking...as for smell, it kind of smelled old, not ripe or strong.

Again, hope I didnt do anything wrong...my first time doing anything like this....
Also, I didnt know if I should cover the wound or not, hes in his pen so if I need to I can go out there

Looks to me like you did a great job getting the scab off and cleaning it up just don’t use peroxide any more I’ll let @casportpony explain why she’s much better than I on these things. I’d think neosporin would be fine.
