Attacking rooster

Hi everybody
Thanks for that overwhelming confirmation of what I was suspecting.....
Just good to check in with others since Ive never had a rooster before and thought theres a chance they're all A-holes. haha
Ive got an EE sitting on 15 eggs and the hatch day is tomorrow- so I'm sure Ill get my pick from at least a few new roosters from that batch.
He's such a handsome boy, its a shame...

I'm sorry, but I agree with all of the above. That boy has got to go. The kids wellbeing needs to come first. Even if they did manage to become Alpha to him, he would always be challenging that status. Again, I'm sorry. :( If you don't want to eat him, you can rehome him. Call your local feed stores & look online for farms. Go to those places with a picture of him & ask if they'd take him. Your chances of rehoming him are better if you offer him for free. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Its hard, I know! :hugsI've had to rehome 3 of them because of our zoning. 2 of them were pretty sweet & 1 was a demon trying to kill most of my family. It sounds stupid, but I even felt guilty rehoming Demon Chicken. Good luck with tomorrows hatch! :fl

Sorry, Room, but that Demon Chicken would have been rehomed to my freezer! Got no time for that!

Try training the new Roo from the beginning to respect all humans. Don't treat him like a cuddly pet as a chick. This always back fires when the roo gets older. IMHO

I'm going to get it from the others but if you can keep the kids away from the chickens for a bit let him breed with the girls more ( ya know til u off him or re-home him) then hatch the eggs more chances more picks.

Oooooooh you're gonna get it! :smack Hahaha! Just kidding! :hugs

IKR! It was hard because the kids hatched him & raised him by hand. My oldest daughter is the only one he didn't want to kill. She still hasn't forgiven me for rehoming him.
