A lovely couple I’ve bbeen chatting with online for some time now was very excited to hear that I not only got chickens (finally), but that they were rescues.
Did I want their special babies, as well? They’re outgrowing the living space, and here I am, another chicken person who loves special chickens.

So.

We have to figure how to get a small clutch of Japanese bantams from Alabama to Northern California. LOL

They’re driving two days out with the lovelies, to about the middle of New Mexico, and I have a driver (I can’t drive). We’re working on figuring out a car to be borrowed between us, or a rental.

Would anyone be interested in helping the chickens on their journey out to the sunny little mini-farm tucked between protected bird sanctuaries?

To do this legally, you will have to adhere to the import laws of California which are that both NPIP certification and a Veterinary Certificate of Health are required. The best thing to do is to help find a home for them in Alabama.

I live in Alabama! That’s so cool that you’re attempting to rescue some chickens! But yes, do it legally :thumbsup
ETA: If If isn’t legal please do not attempt it.

Why Alabama? Would GA work?

Alabama is where they are located and there are no restrictions for relocating them within the state. Moving them to Georgia requires that the import requirements for Georgia be met.
