And those laws are to protect all of us from the transmissions of disease or bringing in pests. The OP needs to find out what they are, as she will be covering multiple states. We are cattle ranchers and we have documentation any time we cross state lines. It is important to follow those laws.

Thank you, everyone, for alerting me. I had no idea we would be doing something illegal. I’ll be calling them later today to let them know. We are both small flock keepers and had no idea. I’d been talking about my rescues who were given to me by a family friend from further north (near Bucks Lake, California) after a raccoon family decimated many of the local flocks, and they were hoping I could take their loving little Nemo and his friends as they know and trust me to be a good home for them. I’ll definitely let them know I have Alabama folks who are here and would be eager to meet their babies.

Way down state from me, my little place is up past the Bay Area. I’d actually seen something about this when I came to paint at the fair, and decided to see about getting my flock vaccinated. Thank you for sharing it with me!

This is a crazy idea. And really it is not noble or legal, and to ask for money to do it, is not the purpose of this forum in my opinion.

I had to go back and reread my post after seeing this comment, because I was sure I hadn’t done any such thing… and I haven’t.
I have NEVER considered asking anyone on this forum for money.
I have been a member of planned relay runs to bring rescue dogs from breed-specific rescue organizations to their new families throughout the years. I had thought it was something positive and possible that could be fun.

I did misconstrued your comment asking for help to do this as asking for money. I apologize. Above that you were stating that you did not have a car, and would need to borrow or rent one.

"Would anyone be interested in helping them on their journey" I assumed that you wanted money for that help. I would be leary of having strange birds and people at my place. I do not quite understand how the relays work.

Ohhhh, no that was just me saying here is where we are on the planning so far. I completely see where that would have been read that way! I am so sorry.
Relays are generally a group of volunteers ferrying an animal/animals through their neck of the woods to the next person for handoff.
I let them know what I learned here, and they were surprised, too.
They’re beyond thrilled about fellow Alabamans who are interested in their little ones!
