ATTENTION ALL WRITERS! C'MON!!!

That's pretty great!

The actually book writing has been pretty slow, stupid writers block and a lack of a plan doesn't help anything XD

But I've just been writing little poems... and some of them I'm really proud of!

"Shorter days, longer nights
Stories told by candlelight
Laughter shared round the room
The light inside, still in full bloom"

"Stories told by ink stained hands
Loyal friends in far off lands
Troubles mounted like an untamed steed
Triumphs won by those in need

To prove themselves to those that care
And play the cards that they dare
In the end, all is not lost
A loving friend who paid the cost

In remembrance and victory, the battle won
And ride off into the setting sun"
Those are really good!!

I wrote this recently... wondering what you guys think?

It wasn't the dark that scared her, but the creatures that lurked in it. But to earn her wings, she would have to face her fears.

And so she plunged ahead, into the forest, where only the bravest - or the dumbest - ventured. She would have to be brave. To prove herself to those that doubted her.

But the forest was not for the faint of heart. Every sound was a threat. Every movement was something dangerous. Something she could not see was a death sentence, and in the next moment, she could be lost to the world.

And so she ran. Away. Faster and faster. Her heart thundered in her chest louder than the storms that sometimes shook the valley where she lived. Her breath came in gasps.

And still, her fears chased her.

She took solace underneath a willow, hidden from the things that lurked on the edge of her vision. Soon enough, the erratic beating of her heart slowed. She hadn't been brave enough. Hadn't faced her fears. Hadn't earned her wings.

Failure was a difficult word to swallow.

But courage was easier. Courage meant second chances.

Fearlessness was not what she needed. Fearlessness meant stupidity. Courage meant something else. Something quite different than what she had been taught.

Courage left room for fear. Courage was admitting that fear existed. Courage left a second chance.

She stood. Took a breath. And left the safety of her tree.

Courage.

Her heart sped up, but she kept a steady pace, sticking to her silent mantra.

Courage. Take heart. Courage. Take heart.

Step by step. Beat by beat. Breath by breath. The light streamed in. The edge of the woods was just up ahead.

She burst through the underbrush, into a field full of spring blossoms. She had made it. She looked around in confusion. Where were her wings? What of her reward?

Courage.

Courage gave second chances. Courage meant she could soar, even when terrified. Even when her fears taunted her. Even when she ran. Courage gave her the chance to fly.
