Maybe I see a "sick" day in your future.....lol. Looks like you did everything right and are off to a successful hatch. Fingers still crossed. Can't count your ducks before they hatch or something like that. I hope they all hatch with no problems.Homemade incubator and yes I have to work at 6am, yuck!!
I kept the humidity around 45-55% during incubation give or take. During lockdown it's been at 75%. I have 9 more that are piped but this was the first one that piped. Looks like a solid yellow but the window is all fogged up so I haven't seen the tail completely. With all the chirping and wiggling around I hope he encourages the others to hurry up!!Maybe I see a "sick" day in your future.....lol. What humidity did you have during incubation and what did you raise it to during "lockdown"? I must be a glutton for punishment as I have another of eggs coming either tomorrow or Saturday.![]()
What kind of eggs? More Muscovy? Form the same breeder or a different line?I kept the humidity around 45-55% during incubation give or take. During lockdown it's been at 75%. WOW, is that Solo? You can almost see them grow before your eyes! Yes, I have another dozen coming from the same breeder and the same species. On my first order (from another breeder in TN) I got burned but the ones I just hatched out were from a breeder in NC and a very reputable breeder I might add. I would highly recommend Jon at WOWSAFARM if anyone is looking for the French White Muscovy eggs.
Ok update....... Before I left for work (yes, I was running late) I had 6 hatched! One looks totally black, feet and all! I will take pic when I get home or have DH send me one so I can post it.3 in the brooder an one drying in the incubator! I think 3 are dead in shell because they never internally piped but if the rest hatch I will have 11 but you're right, I shouldn't count my ducks before they hatch!!

Dianne88, as you well know this is the most critical time of the incubation,....hatching. I hope you have a successful hatch with many little ducklings, especially the odd black one, wow! Surely you will be exhausted by days end what with being up late, up early and working today. Don't forget to take care of yourself. I'm very happy for the little ones that hatched, but also very curious as to why some apparently died at this stage in the shell.Ok update.......
