I have two male American Pekin Ducks and for some reason they just seem not really aggressive with each other but act like they fight. Not sure what to really call the behavior. They don’t let each other in the pool and one is sorta just always antagonizes the other one. Goes for his feet, neck his feathers on his back etc. not sure what it is or why they do this. My big one keeps limping because the smaller one keeps attacking his foot. Always the same foot. Just looking for advice to help with the behavior or anyone know what or why it is or they do this ? These are them.

They are establishing the pecking order. They both want to be at the top, the dominant one. It will keep up until one gives in or you separate them. If one is injured I would separate them now but keep them close enough to see each other. For example, put one in a dog crate by the other. I would keep them apart until his foot heals and it is a fair fight. Even then, drakes and their need to be dominant turn them into mean bullies. They may become best friends or they may never get along.

My runner duck drakes used to hit at each other, using their heads like baseball bats. Eventually, they outgrew it -- and realized it was more fun to chase the girls than to squabble with each other.

While I think it is a pecking order thing, enough distractions seem to have worked for mine. In fact, they even wait patiently in line now to take turns having their way with whichever female is the favorite of the day.
