Attn. all members! The cancer center needs hats!

My crocheted hats are made using Vanna's Baby and Vanna's choice as well as Bernat Softee CHunky.
Wool-ease is really nice and soft as well. If you are using a loom, you'll need to probably use two or even three strands of yarn, I have a few looms, and the hats I've made have lots of "holes" between the stitches, I don't think those would be suitable as skin would show through and folks might be uncomfortable with that.

Thank you to Scrambled Egg, who mailed me some cute little charms and buttons when I asked where she had bought them.

I added them (all dangly) to the blue hat - I'm sure someone will love the "funky" "fun" little head topper!

I'm trying without the loom. When I finish my first one I will post and see if it is acceptable. I am also using an I and J hook on two different ones to see how well it puts them together. May I ask what size you are using? I bought more yarn

gumpsgirl,
I tried to create a hat, didn't go well. If an oddly shaped headed ET alien shows up I've got it covered.

So a neighbor and I went shopping this am. Bought 15 hats. Send me an address and I'll get them into the mail tomorrow.

Gumpsgirl, this is what I am coming up with. I have one made and one in the works. I am using the green loom with Lion Homespun yarn, two strands so they are a little thicker (and warmer). The color of the one made is not yummy, but it does not show skin through it. The blueish one in the making is coming along good and does not let skin show through either. Please let me know if you think these will work? Here are the links to pics of what I have:

I have a couple of friends from work making some also. I would like to send at least these two by the end of this week if they will work. If so, please PM where I should send them.

Ok, so I caved big time on doing it with a hook and just went with the knifty knitter. I used the homespun yarn and caron simply soft to make one hat. So, I used one thread of each yarn, going round and round with two threads. I tried on the dark blue and silver and felt that it was good for size but then made the brown one a little longer and thought it might be too big. Any thoughts on this? Be honest....
