ATTN: American Pit Bull owners.

Pit Bulls are fantastic, wonderful family pets if raised correctly. You have to be really tough with these dogs, and let them know your the dominate one. They are very smart and strong dogs. Teach and raise it correctly and it can be the best dog you've ever had. I have 2 myself.

This is Bella, friends of ours found her pregnant mom wondering the streets at only 8 months old. She ended up having 11 puppies, but was so young, she didn't know how to feed them. We bottled fed Bella and some of her litter mates since they were 3 weeks old. We socialized her as much as we could with dogs, and people. She's about 8 months old, and weighs around 80 lbs. and is expected to get 100-120 lbs. She is big for a pit bull, most are around 40-60 lbs.

There is typically nothing wrong with the dogs, just something that went wrong in their upbringing. You have to be a strong person to raise them. Socialize, socialize, socialize. Take to puppy classes and then some. If you don't you can have trouble on your hands. This goes for other dominant breed dogs too, not just pit bulls. So if you really think you AND your family can commit to this, then there shouldn't be a problem. I would suggest a puppy though.

I also suggest agility classes, or something to keep you and the dog busy. It also helps you to create a strong bond.

This is Angel out 7 year old pit bull, we got her when she was 11 months old and she already had given birth to a litter of puppies

She was 4 when introduced to ducks and 6 when introduced to chickens, She has never bothered them even though the drake liked to chase her around the yard and the female duck thought she was her mate

She is an awesome dog, I love small dogs but Angel stole my heart!

Ok this is Ice, she HATES having her pics taken, she was from an "accidental" litter from my cousins best friend. Also great with ducks and chickens! This dog has seperation anxiety, my mom can not leave without her barking and crying. If something happened to my mom I think she would grieve to death.

One of my dogs looks like he has Pitt in him. He is vicious and evil. I can't imagine
why anyone would want such a nasty creature. Next time I'm getting a poodle.
