Okay, those are crazy beautiful chickens! That's my FBCM, Big Karla behind my BR, Samantha. You can't see her legs in this photo, but she has feathers all over them. Her neck is a beautiful coppery color.
two of my girls have about the amount of feathering I would expect, very cute to look at, but the only one with any copper coloration has such sparse feathering that you could miss it by glancing at her.
Your girl is pretty...I hope mine fill out nicely...how big are they supposed to be as adults?...like orpington/cochin big, or more like BR/RIR big?
If you got them for a hatchery, you will be disappointed with the eggs. I bought 10 of them one time, when the first one started laying, it was the color of a dark Orp egg, spent a lot of money on them and got rid of all of them and made room for some hatched from Wynette's birds. Sorry to be a bubble buster.
I have two cuckoo Marans I got from a hatchery several years ago. They're very dependable layers but their egg shell color does fade as they get older. My girls eggs are almost indistinguishable from my other brown egg layers except for some small dark spots sprinkled over a light to med brown egg.
