Atwoods chick - help??

[Chicken + Duck = Ducken!]

Can anyone tell me what kind of chicken this is? Someone bought it from Atwoods without knowing anything at all about it because it was the last one there, and they ended up not knowing how to take care of it. It's mostly black with some white on it's neck, some white on the ends of the wings, and both feet are black with the middle toe white.

He/she could be a Black sex link, Black Australorps and Jersey Giants usually have more white feathers on their belly, breast, and eye area. Here are some links for comparison:

Thank you so much. A friend said that my chickie looks like a Black Australorp but I looked it up and those chickies have a lot more white.Choochie looks like a black sex link.

Yes, she looks like a Black Sex-Link! Australorp or Jersey Giant could have been another possiblity, but as Veer67 said, she doesn't have enough white. To be sure, I'd post some more photos when she's feathered out, by which time we'll be able to see if she has some reddish-orange feathers on her breast (Black Sex-Links get some reddish-orange feathers on their breast generally--you won't see any if she's an Australorp or Jersey Giant (well, not all Black Sex-Links get many orange feathers either)).

I agree--your chick is most likely a Black Sex-link. Other black breeds include Jersey Giants, Australorps, and Sumatras, but those chicks often have white bellies and chests (which yours doesn't have). When your chick gets older, you'll know for sure--Black Sex Links develop orangish feathers on their necks and breasts, but Australorps and the other breeds I mentioned feather in a pure, shiny black. If she is a Black Sex-link, then she's for sure a pullet, as male BSLs have white dots on their heads when they're young.

here's how big she is now. She's sleepy and isn't wanting to stand up at the moment because she's in a cuddly mood, but she's growing orangish feathers on her breast and a ton of fluffy feathers on her thighs.
