AUCTION Barred Plymouth Rock ~10+~Stukel Lines-GONE!

Thank you, Robin. I do love their look, though you know my love of BRs began with hatchery hens, Lexie and Ivy, may those sweet girls rest in peace. I'm fond of them all, even if they don't have the crisp barring and broad frames of these girls.

I have seen these birds up close guys and gals and I know its hard to believe but they truly are more beautiful in person than they look in the pictures. They are also much larger than your average barred rock. These are what barred"s are supposed to be and used to be before the hatcheries got their hands on them. We are so proud to have some of these chicks and love them so much we are keeping them in the house til they are fully feathered, maybe till they start laying, and possibly til its time for them to draw social security( although I haven't told my wife that last part yet).

Hahaha, Chris, you're so funny!

It was your hatch that proved fertility was good, though I was sure of it from just cracking the eggs open for weeks. Incubation just proved it for us. Glad you have some of these beautiful chicks-hoping for a few pullets, too. Rex's hatch was very pullet heavy-will be interesting to see if the girls give us mostly girls like their mothers did.

Don't know if you are joking or not but I have a pair (won't say on this thread what they are) in my basement and believe me, they will be there till the sun comes out to stay and I have a pen built that I know nothing can get into. I've had some in there until they started to lay then put them out. Of course it is an old type basement, not something that anyone could live in. ha,ha I have a coal furnace and it keep them plenty warm once the heat lights come off of them. I also have some babies down in there right now. They don't draw social security though. ha,ha
