Just wondering how early the hens usually mature. My 12 week old roos that I got from Omega Hills have been fertile for at least two weeks now and I was totally surprised. I have four older hens and about two weeks ago I noticed when I was cracking open their eggs that they were fertile and the only roos I have are three Auggie roos. Two that were ten weeks old then, twelve now, and another one about two weeks younger. With the roos maturing so fast, I was just curious how fast I can expect my hens to mature as well. In any case, I'm glad that I have the older hens around since that means that the little roos don't have to bother the younger ones before they are ready.
Oh, and before anyone asks, yes I know that the only way the eggs were fertile were with the young cockerels since I have them in a run with net over the top. No way a stray roo got to the hens.
