August Egg Swap ~ Emails have been sent

Mine have 4 more days left before lock down.

I have been having a huge problem with humidity. My bators where doing perfect till I put those eggs in there. It's like they just sucked the moisture right out of the bator. I added a sponge to keep it up.

I have 2 pips. I went to check on the temp and all before I went to bed last night and there was a pip. So I decided to move them closer to the window and when I picked up another a little beak burst rught through the side. Startled me and I almost dropped the egg. I don't know what breed they are but they are the big long eggs. One is darker than the other. They aren't due to hatch till the 7th but I keep (or try to) the temps around 100.2 and 100.4 if possible. This time around has been a real challenge with the temps and humidity. Humidity being the biggest challenge to keep up. Anyway, I wanted to let you know they are beginning to hatch. There is one, the lightest one, almost white, that has dark spots now. I need to candle it. It doesn't smell

I have 2 chicks now and 3 pips. The green egg is one of the pips. The almost white one that has dark spots doesn't seem to be alive. No movement from it but there is from the others. Even the one of mine I put in 2 days later. Today is lock down day and they are hatching. Both of the ones that have hatched already are both a dark color one is much bigger than the other and it has big eyes. I've been hatching out smaller chicks for so long these little fellas seem like giants. I'll post pics when I can and when they are all hatched and dry. But I'll keep you posted on their progress

Yay!!!! I am SOOO glad!!!!!!!!!!

The green egg game from either an EE or an EE/BR it will probably be mixed but we do have an EE roo

I candeled my eggs and they all have something in them but stopped devoloping

I candeled some from our chickens and they were all very dark..I think the only one with something developing might be the green egg but it's kinda hard to tell. I will candle again in a little while, just to check.

The green egg one is mixed. It turned out a golden color and has yellow legs. There is a black one with a white spot on it's head and one on it's back. There is another one a golden color that looks almost like the green egg one. The very first one is dark with yellow some on it's head and chest. Thats the one with the big eyes it's the biggest one and the first hatched. The second one is a different color, but dark color with some yellow. It's head is smaller, well it's whole body is smaller in mass than the first one and it's eyes aren't big either. The two golden ones have a golden spot on the ends of their beaks. There is still one to hatch. It hasn't pipped yet. I guess it's gonna be on time instead of early like the others. I helped the black one with the two spots out because I thought it was stuck but just lazy.

How are the eggs doing that I sent to NY?

The little black one with the two white spots isn't doing so well. I don't expect it to make it to morning. It's not holding it's head up and is now not standing anymore. I gave it a dose of vitamins for a boost in hopes it will make it. The others are doing fine. I'm sure one of the little golden ones is a cockerel because it's the only one with a very noticeable comb. The other eggs still hasn't pipped but it isn't due till the 7th.

Have you candled the eggs I sent yet? I put two of the big brown ones in my bator and one was fertile and should hatch in a few days also. It was doing the jig in it's shell today when all the commotion of hatching was going on. I can't wait to see what it looks like. It's a different mix. It's production red and silkie. Same as yours. Your other ones are EE and silkie. They make very pretty birds. I hatched out a bunch this summer and they all where just beautiful. I actually sold them all and the few older ones I got a nice price on and they where only 2 months old.
