I haven't candled again but my eggs seem to suck the moisture rught out of the bator. I can't get the humidity over 45%. I put it in another bator that was stable and it dropped below 45 too. I put extra sponges and add water everyday and still it won't go over 45% I'll have to add an extra dish or two in the bottom under the screen and hopefully that will do it.

I have 3 bators and 2 are mostly full of quail eggs and the swap eggs. My 3rd bator is for lock down. I really need a cabinet bator with about 4 shelves. We need to work on making one out of an old fridge.

I had gotten my eggs I think they are buff orpingtions...at least two are marked BO and the rest are not. Interested to see what I get to hatch.

bigSprings- The day after I sent your eggs one of my hens went broody and now no one is laying. Thank goodness I collected them in time.

I'm pretty much in the same boat...I was hoping to get into the Sept. swap...but all my hens are on eggs...one of them was brooding golf balls! I had to give her the two chicks that just hatched to make better use of her...
