My eggs are on day 2 in bator

MY bator does not have an ajustable humidity level.

I have a little giat from orschlens. It has the channels in the bottom for the water
I have a thermometer that also reads humidity% it is staying at 85- 87% BUT I am only on day2 of cycle .
It has 2 red plugs in top should I remove 1 plug and see where it brings my humidity to.
I have seen many keep their humidity at 50-60% then at the last bump it up to 80 or so


Should I let well enough alone??? LOL

mine are due the 11th i have blue and white silkie eggs and 6 rir eggs i candelled last night and all but 4 looked to be forming good i left them anyways to see but it looked like the have a blood circle they need to be tossed right? all of the others have a lil chick forming

Just remember that what works for one person may not work for another due to the conditions in your house (temps and humidity) so incubating eggs will be trial and error and a learning experience! I just candled my 8 Australorp eggs and they all appear fertile! I'm disappointed, though, because the eggs are really porous and I don't know what to do differently for that.

Except, weird thing? I can't even see a peek through the shell of one of my 4 EE eggs in there with them, but all the other EE shells are super porous like the Australorp eggs.

Regardless, from what I can tell, the eggs are all showing some veins except that one EE egg. Yay!!!!!

Sadly there is nothing you can do for a porus egg. Does make it hard to see what is going on

Well we had a pretty bad storm and it knocked one of the fuses out...I was out of town and when I got back my incubator was out for 5days....i almost cried..but i just threw those eggs out and now I will start over again with a new batch next week...also my bantamn hen went broody today and i have her on 9 eggs...either way, I'm back in the game...stay tuned for how many I get to the incubator next week.

1 egg was cracked found it a few days ago(holding nose)

left me with 39. 4 eggs not fertile.......

means i have 35 eggs that are good

could even see chicks moving in about 70% of them

not bad for my first time i think
