August Hatch-A-Long!

Day 21 Every single one of my Blue Bredas died last night before hatching. Eggtopsy shows every single one is malpositioned and could not pip the air cell. So sad I could cry

That is 0 out of 18 eggs. Shipped eggs are torture.
I'm so sorry. You were really looking forward to those ones. I have thrown out over two hundred shipped eggs over the last few months. Out of 27 guinea eggs, not one hatched. The 10 that made it to lockdown were upside down in the eggs. It's so sad. But as soon as one hatches, it makes it all worth it. Just means you need to put more eggs in the incubator.

I think I've completely messed up and compromised my hatch. I added too much water and this morning when I got up the hum read 90%! then just now I realized I hadn't opened the 2nd air hole and some condensation had accumulated in the windows of the bator. I'm sure I cooked the littles.

So cute! Can't wait to see those Japanese bantams
Miracle passed this morning...i think it was from her not eating or drinking on her own. her older siblings had eating and drinking down in a couple hours after i placed them in the brooder but she never seemed to go drink or eat without me helping. RIP sweet precious angel...you life was short but it was grand and i am glad to have known you these few days...please say hello to Parsley up there in heaven for me
I'm so I'm so sorry about your sweet leghorn!! I lost my little EE roo chick last week and it broke my heart, on the same day I had my first Silkie chicks hatching. It eased the pain but I still think about him so much:')

I think a virtual group hug is appropriate. *hugs*
My Langshans. 7 all together. I'm happy with 7 out of 15. Look at the difference between the first two. Tomorrow RIR, SLW, GLW, FCM and LF Cochins.
So cute & congrats! I am done :-/ I now have 33 chickens; which 11 are full sized, with 1/6th acre available, I'm maxed out until next spring after we thin out the flock. I can't wait to get more land!

Ok.Take a deep breath..............
You are probably OK..............When the eggs start hatching the humidity jumps way up into the 80's.
A temp of 105 or so will likely do them in.....but for humidity, just work to get it down...........
What day are you on???If not in lock down.....just open the top for a few minutes and if there is still to much water.....
use a paper towel to wipe it out...............

I'm on day 19. Temp went up to 104 briefly but coming down now and humidity is down to 79%. On another note. I picked up one of my wk old chicks that the broody hatched and noticed one foots toes are very curled-2 toes I think. Poor thing. Gets around well. Almost as fast as its sibling.
