August Hatch-A-Long!

I started some partridge rocks and partridge rock/australorp eggs about seven days ago. Also have four lil nuggets with a hen that are a couple weeks old. I'm using just a plain Jane lg without a fan or turner. Seems to work ok though, I got five out of eight last time so we shall see. I'm hoping these mutts will be laying machines

Ok I'm here to pick your brains again. Lol. I've been incubating my eggs in a carton since I read it sometimes helps with shipped eggs. Now here's my dilemma... I have an egg who has a HUGE air cell that goes across the top like it should....then dips halfway down the egg on one side. Is this normal? When I go into lockdown should I take everybody out of the carton and lay down? All the others that are developing so far have very normal air cells except one who has a very small one but is developing alright. I'm not sure how to help that one either. My humidity was running mid 30's for the first 9 days or so and now it's running about mid 40's. Should I lower it again? Or leave it alone? I'm seeing excellent development in all the living eggs including the wonky cell guy so I'm not sure if I should try to change anything at all.... :/

Oh and I'm on day 13...Any advice for a anxious soon again to be chick momma (hopefully) would be greatly appreciated.

... Now that I'm looking at this again I swear my eggs look a lot more like days 14 and 15 than the 13 they're on...maybe they got hot in the mail?

It happens all the time. All it takes is for them to get to 99 degrees to start developing. That's why we're told to store them in a cool place until ready to incubate. Watch them closely for rocking and rolling over the next three to four days to see if you need to raise your humidity a little.

Congrats! I believe that my temps went up about a half a degree once they started hatching. It's okay as long as it's no more than a degree. They expend a lot of energy getting out of their eggs.

I'm joining after my pbp killed the ones I hatched last month. Hoping to put 11 in my nova. And 3-four in my homemade in a few days. Have never had a successful hatch in homemade. So strictly experimental.

Good to know its only up half a degree. Funny, the two eggs that pipped are not the two that were moving around yesterday. I took the dogs for an evening walk and checked the incubator for the 1000th time and saw the pips.
