and to the thread....................
Hope you have a great hatch........................

NO WAY! I just won 12 + Blue Breda eggs on ebay from Rare Feathers Ranch for $30 total !!! Woohoo, my Quechuas and Colloncas will have company after all, LOL! http://www.ebay.com/itm/12-Blue-Bre...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
With more than twelve, I have a good shot of getting at least one viable chick of each sex. I am so psyched!! I had a $30 limit and if I didn't get those it would have been these Bielefelder eggs http://www.ebay.com/itm/261258300732?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649

Here are my 16 hatchlings.

Sadly had to cull my crossbeak today, so heartbreaking :'(
Sorry, but you did what you had to do.

When I went out to the Hensly Palace this morning, all the other hens were in the house, in front of the two broodies intently staring at them. I can only assume they hear some peeping or activity that I cant hear (day 19). I have a piece of fencing closing off the nest boxes so the babies cant fall out and the others cant get to them. The nursery house and enclosure are all set up. Now just wating for action!
It's the maternity ward and everyone just wants to see the new babies.

The one egg that I thought could have had a live chick in it still, I saved for last. And it is still alive! It still hasn't pipped the inner membrane yet so it's back in the bator with a wet paper towel around it to increase the humidity and keep that membrane soft and moist.

Well, the chick died overnight never even trying to pip thru the membrane (membrane was still soft even after I opened the shell so he could have if he tried). Since he didn't try, I'm going to assume it just wasn't meant to be. Now the bator is being cleaned out and I need to decide if I want to try again with more blue eggs AND with bantam eggs. Both roosters are gone so this will be the last attempt. Anybody know what will be the best arrangement in an LG incubator with fan? Should the bantam eggs go in the middle with larger eggs around it or perhaps the other way around? I guess I need to count how many of each type egg I've got sitting on the counter waiting.

My one with the pip sat there all day until 3 and then unzipped the whole egg super fast! Pop out she came. Great that the boys got to see the whole thing. Alternating between peeping loudly and resting right now. Little blue silkie. Hope she gets the others moving.

It's the loosing that keeps me from becoming poor.  WHere do I find EZsnipe?  I'm going to have to build more incubators.  I have a cabinet I was thinking about converting...

Go to EZSniper.com to sign up.

Did you see the incubator made from a cabinet that JNJManning made? It cost her less than I paid for my Brinsea Eco20 Advance that only holds 20 eggs!

I am going to show this to the hubby to see if he might build me one.
