August Hatch-A-Long!

I started collecting and storing her last nine eggs. I left her 1st in the nest because I was worried she would start laying somewhere else when I began taking them. From what I've read they should be set no later than day ten, but may still be viable at day 14. I guess I'll find out because I can't set them until this batch hatches. I didn't want to give them back to mom because I know she will continue to lay and hopefully have a successful hatch. This is, I guess you could call it my back up plan, I'm really just trying to get her some duckling's if she happens to fail again.

unless you have a separate incubator you can't really mix them because the two species have different humidity needs...can you put off putting them in leave them with mom?

Quote: duck eggs are hard to hatch in the incubator....read up a lot....use sponges to keep the humidity up and mist the eggs a few times a day to replicate mama going for a swim then getting back on the nest. I sure love ducks, HA, big surprise...

So sorry. How many babies do you have now? I'm up to 3 at last check!

Since my last hatch went horrible

I'm joining the Sept Hatch along. Got a new to me bator (hova-bator 1583) for a great deal

at a local hatchery. and I'm picking up some more eggs this weekend so I will be setting them tues. wish me luck hope this hatch goes much better than the last hell I would be happy if one hatches at this point

Still just 2. No more pips but I swear I hear very quiet chirping!

I'm thinking one pullet and one cockerel? The one on the left is almost gray. Is this a cockerel?
