Still just the one chick. Two pipped awhile ago but nothing since. The one lone chick is still in there.

A second chick. It looks yellow silver. Still sleeping. Another is almost done zipping.1 hatched, 6 pips, 6 taking too long. Now I'm going to try to sleep but probably will lay here listening for tiny cheeps.
3 RIR, 2 Marans, 6 SLW, 2 GLW, 5 Cochin went into lockdown tonight. I don't like withdrawals.
that sounds amazing! how fun! stay warm this winter...check in sometimes!I hurried out at 7am and all of them were hatched! 2 were all fluffy and 3 were getting there. They all look healthy. I won't be hatching any more chicks this season because I'm in Mich and that says it all. So I'll see you peeps in the Spring because this was my trial run and hopefully I'll try hatching some new cool breeds like the rest of you are hatching. I've learned so much from you BYC folk. Thanks!

I always hate it when they get to the hatch and don't make it....I've had babies pip the shell and still die before they hatch....Congrats on all the new babies!!!! My August hatch is now complete. After a final candling of the last 3 eggs with no movement, I chose to open them. 1 had pierced the air cell, his beak was barely sticking out and he had absorbed all the yolk, he drown. I felt so horrible because he was moving yesterday and I decided to wait. My other 2 were also moving yesterday but never got there head from under there wing, they only had a little bit of yolk left to absorb. In the end I have 2 very healthy chick's and 1 that I am concerned about. He only wants to sleep and is not active or eating on it's own. I started feeding it last night and am feeding it now....I sure hope he pulls through. Now it's time to move on to the September-hatch-along, hope to see you there!![]()
