August Mystery Egg Swap . . . . . Sign Ups Open!!!!

Every time the dogs bark I run to look out the window to see if it's the mailman leaving a box...
I'm getting excited!

So far he hasn't been here

Mailman just dropped off the box and it was the most perfect looking box I have ever seen. I think those eggs had a more comfy bed than I do! So far they look good but it is to bright out for now to check air cells.

What a great variety! I got 5 itty itty bitty eggs - they are the tiniest eggs I have ever seen. It is hard to imagine an living thing being able to grow in there. AND GREEN EGGS!!!!! Man I have been trying to hatch out a new green egg layer since last fall - I keep hatching roos. SO then I went and bought two chicks - both are roos. And the tan ones that say 28 days - I am guessing some kind of duck. HMMMM they don't have the texture of my duck eggs though. My muscovies have a waxy feel to their eggs.

ARGGGGGG I can't wait for all this stuff to hatch!

I would post pictures but my camera battery is dead. I left it plugged into the computer

I'm headed to the state fair to do some volunteer work right now so I will charge it while I am gone. Besides after sleuthing a bit methinks you know what they are anyway

Told the hubby I MIGHT have turkey eggs and he thought that was cool!

Whoever may or may not have sent your eggs is probably glad that the made it for the most part safely. They probably are a little disappointed that one was cracked, but may have slipped by because they have a turkey that was eating eggs and they checked for cracks and discarded a few that were to be sent but may have missed the one. Ugh. The turkey would become Thanksgiving dinner probably if she wasn't old and her meat would be like chewing on shoe leather. If she only had a Tom maybe she could raise her own poults and leave the chickens alone. She may have been raised with the chickens and never gotten sick and when she may have been removed, she may have thrown a fit and may have kept sneaking back in whenever the individual went in to feed the chickens. STupid turkey.

Hmmm my eggs are almost like that and **twight zone music** number 5 is craked almost all the war around.
Now this makes me happy as most my guinea from another swap got scrambled and so far only one of them made it.
Now I also got seeds...

and gave me some that where what I needed. Black hollyhock seeds, mine where in a spot that flooded the pot and washed the seeds away.

And I know who you are so thank you thank you thank you!!!!!

Well after careful candling it looks like the air cells are slightly detached but OK. I accidentally squished one of the itty bitty eggs trying to take it out of it's itty bitty carton to show the hubby. They are all safe and snug in my incubator now. Let the countdown begin!
