are you like me finishing up the last of your hatches before winter sets in?

the eggs sent to Maine are doing great. It looks like all are developing right on schedule. My candling skills are not perfect but I didn't see any blood rings so I think that is good.

The eggs I got............ ZERO development, this is a 1st for me.

They are scrambled.
Good luck everyone...........

Yes, but I will probably still be setting more eggs after the current eggs in my incubators hatch.

Of the two button quail eggs that developed one is hatched - unfortunately with a little intervention from me. He had zipped half way as of yesterday evening and was still in the same spot this morning so I peeled him out like a hard boiled egg. This is the tinist bird I have ever seen - my husband was also amazed. I have the feeling the other one got stuck before it even pipped. My humidity had dropped yesterday to 22%. I will help them if it is obvious they are stuck but I won't help a chick that hasn't at least pipped externally on its own. If the other one doesn't hatch will this guy be OK as a singleton?

His down is blue/gray and yellow.

I had one hatch by itself and it peeped incessantly and ran itself to death. I have since discovered that you can put a sock rolled up or a small stuffed toy in for a surrogate buddy. Or just keep it in your pocket:gig
