bluesuede poultry my 5 birds i hatched are 1 month old today. I have 2 male blk sexlinks 1 male lav orp, 1 female gold sexlink and 1 blk sexlink female. I need to take pics of the orp for you. HE IS HUGE 14.2 oz versus 10.2 oz of the blk sexlink males. Are your orps american or english? Just curious. He has the meanest expression but very mellow.
Where are the pictures???

The second one looks like its pure Iowa Blue. The first might be my Blue Wheaten roo with one of the hens that carries Wheaten. The third, I don't have any idea. I'll have to look back and see what color eggs you said hatched. I've never hatched any like #1 and 3. Do any have feathered legs?

I think they all came from light brown eggs - all the same medium size and somewhat round (rather than pointed). None of them have feathered feet. I was thinking #2 looked possibly like Iowa Blue. #1 looks like my welsummers and my brown leghorn in coloring without the bright orange feet. #3 is very light and has very light eye color (very unusual). It will be interesting to see what they grow up to look like.
Light brown eggs at that time would be my Black Sex Link, Iowa Blue (and one lays a round egg) and a mutt (she has Silkie, Bantam Cochin, Leghorn, and something Wheaten in her just by looking at her).
Now for the daddy.
My Welsummer was about 10 weeks old. My splash cochin was pushing 4 months old. Blue Jersey Giants were 4 months old. Big Comb was in there but he is a Silkie cross. The NN were 6 months old. My BCM was 14 weeks old. I have my Blue Wheaten crossbred in there too. The Iowa Blue and Splash Silkie were in there too. From the Picture, #3 almost looks Lavender. I'll need to look at the chickens more tomorrow to see if I can offer any more help. They sure look nice. Did you see the picture of the one I got from you?

#2 is now Mr. Piggy (not Miss Piggy) and #3 is now Angelo (not Angel). #1 will keep her name of Artemis. They will go into my mixed flock next Spring (if the roos behave

BTW - off the three guineas that hatched, one died the first week (bottom beak was much longer than top) - but the other two are zooming all over the coop with their chicken friends. They are amazingly hard to catch even at this age.

That would be Guineas. Did you find they grew and feathered in much faster than the chicks?
