LOL...turkeys can be a trip. I could tell within just a couple days which were the toms in my brooder. Ornery little things would come over & try to eat your fingers every time you put your hand in the brooder. The little hens were 1/2 the si2e of the toms after a week & they would run from me when I reached into the brooder. My turkey's are just plain nosey, I can not do anything in their pen without a few hopping up on me, this will not be pleasant when they are 20lbs.......
And since i was so confused about eggs last month wait till this month, expecting most eggs from the other category, it might take me all winter to find out what I got....Be gentle![]()
As for "new egg" experiences...we are all anxious to see what we get this time around. Hatching new things is a learning experience. I went thru 3 batches of quail (coturnix & buttons) before I got a single 1 to hatch. Then I had a 100% hatch on a batch of 11 & 50% on a batch of almost 40. There are quail all over my brooder now!!!! Had to put rocks in the waterer because the little numbskulls kept going for a swim. Don't know how, but 1 even managed to drown itself last night WITH the rocks in the waterer.
