OK...I know I owe eggs (Silkie & Cochin) to a couple of you. I'm heading to the auction at Mt Hope with Michelle tomorrow. She's on a goat hunt & I'm on a bird hunt. Hopefully we can BOTH locate what we are looking for at a reasonable price. Then she can make her soaps & mow her yard & I can get these stupid egg orders out despite a million broodies

If only I had another broody hen I'd be all in. Maybe I will have another one before the deadline.

OMG... One of my Marans hens chased the showgirl off the nest... she tried to sit on top but she wouldnt fit in the nest box.... so now Im 3 raising babies..... 2 broodies who went back for a second round this year..... 2 new broodies...... This leaves me with THREE chickens that are laying hatching eggs. 2 silkies and 1 Marans at the point of lay, or close to it. The roosters are after them that means its soon yes? Or does it just mean boys will be boys?

Of course all my eating egg girls are up and running. I may have to put another batch of olive eggers in, lol.
