Auracana-red star cross

Would this make a good cross for egg production. 2 auracana roosters and red star hens?

For the first generation hybrid cross, absolutely! They'd produce plenty of big, greenish eggs.

Awesome, I have 20 red star hens and 2 auracana roosters may put some in incubator in a couple months.

I do that cross frequently. The resulting pullets make wonderful layers. If you are using purebred Araucana roosters almost all of your chicks will be rumpless, too.

My rooster is black. When I breed him to BR hens or Cuckoo Marans hens, the pullets are solid black with lots of green iridescence, the cockerels are all barred like mom.

Sweet, will feather sexing work on these chicks?

On their wings? I don't think so, but not sure.

I was on YouTube and people were showing how to sex a baby chick by there feathers on there wing tips, but it sounded like it didn't work for all breeds.
